If you are bringing up this website, it’s because you’ve searched for downloadable copies of my books. I am currently offering two of my novellas (Sexy as Hell and A Wing and a Prayer) as free downloads from traditional ebook distributors such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble. In case you are unaware, there are no free LEGAL copies of my full-length books available.
You can certainly find copies at various torrent and file sharing sites, but these are all ILLEGAL copies of my books. I spend a great deal of time and money each month sending takedown notices for violating my copyright. It may not seem like a big deal to you, but everytime you download a free copy of my book, you are stealing from me.
Piracy is illegal. Copyright laws exist to protect the intellectual and creative property of artists of all kinds. The pirates who upload books, music, movies, software, etc., to sites so others can download them for free are breaking the law and showing disrespect for the creators of that content. The people who download that content are stealing. It’s no different than walking into a store, shoving a copy of the book down your pants and walking out. It’s theft.
As much as I love writing books, it’s my job, and I use that money to pay my bills. I not only lose royalties from those stolen books, if my books don’t sell well, my publisher may decide not to offer me future contracts. They are not impressed by now popular my books are with illegal downloaders. They want to make money and so do I. If my books aren’t selling, no more writing for me.
The economy sucks. I get it. If you can’t afford to buy my books, they are available at your local library. It’s free and legal to borrow those books.

Free downloads of selected Harlequin/Mills and Boon titles are available at http://www.everyonesreading.com/ and http://tryharlequin.com/. None of my books are currently available through these programs. Simon and Schuster controls all the rights to the distribution of all Andrea Laurence books written for Pocket Star.
Any other site offering free downloads of my or any other Harlequin author’s books are doing so illegally.
